- Experiment. Try out new topics and ideas. If you always write posts filled with words write a post with mainly pictures or vice versa. Try to branch out into new areas of writing and new topics. This will expand your voice, your presence and make you more real to your readers. You’ll become a fully fleshed out, 3D person to the people who follow your blog.
- Develop some series. If you find you have some topics that really work for you. Ones that you just love to write about why not turn them into a series of posts? I love series posts. They can be really popular! I have lots on my blog – some about dealing with emotions, some about meals on a budget, some about lovely things.
- Find your area of expertise. If there’s something you know a lot about, write about that. If there’s something you can share your knowledge on maybe that could be a brand new series for your blog. Try to think outside the box here – not something that lots of bloggers write about. The more unique your knowledge is the more likely you are to stand out from the crowd.
All the while, keep in mind your own voice. Whatever you write, write it from your own perspective. You are what makes your blog unique. You are what makes people want to come back over and over again. Envisage your blog voice as a character in a book or a movie if it helps. Flesh her out completely and give her a whole series of ideas, thoughts and responses. All of this will help to make your blog voice real, true and consistent.
I hope these tips help with your blogging and I am wishing you lots of success in finding and securing your voice.
Have a great day!
